Winter landscape–1st week progress

 

Trip to the Indian Grinding State Park

We’ve learned that the last weekend of September Indians will have they special yearly gathering in this state park. It was about one hour drive. I’ve made a lot of pictures while driving which left my camera almost powerless so we were scare on taking pictures on site =( Anyway I’ve got some interesting pictures so you may see what it was.

Я изучала куда можно съездить на выходные в нашей окрестности и обнаружила, что в последние выходные сентября в Indian Grinding парке ежегодно собираются индейцы на какой-то свой сбор. Около часа езды от нас. Пока ехали я понащелкала кучу фоток и почти  разрядила аппарат, так что в парке удалсь пофоткать немного. Вобщем ниже фотоотчет

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Russian evening

This evening we invited American friends who had never eaten russian food. So I’ve made piroshkies and pelmenies  (russian raviolis) for them. We have kind of collection of wooden hand-made bowls, spoons and others which I usually keep in the box. So this day I’ve decided to make russian style and used part of the dishes. And on the back you may see the samovar to heat and boil water. This one is electrical, but the old real one would be much bigger and have place inside for coal to burn and a chimney. Like on the photo below which I found here

September Ornament–Christmas tree

 

 

Here is my September ornament. I’ve made two similar designs which will be finished as Christmas trees. I just need to find two small buckets for decorating. So promise to show it later on.

Хочу заметить день когда я начала эту вышивку.

Americana Basket is ready to frame =)

It took me about two months. It might be faster but I wasn’t persistent in stitching. Backstitching and those small white flowers made this picture vivid despite stitching it was very tiresome. I love the result nevertheless!

Около двух месяцев я над ним трудилась. Не могу назвать себя постоянной и усердной, иначе получилось бы гораздо быстрей =) Вышивать эти белые мелкие цветы, что так оживляют картину, весьма нудное занятие и очень много бэк-ститча. Трудоемко. Но результат мне нравится!

I already have in mind what I’ll be stitching next. It’s winter landscape by Russian company “Zolotoe Runo”. It doesn’t have back stitch at all. One the one hand it makes stitching easier, on the other hand it makes design luck of small details and I love detailed stitching. I’ll see if I like it.

Уже знаю что буду вышивать следующее – зимний пейзаж от Золотое Руно. Там совсем нет бэка, так что вышивать будет легче и быстрей, но в тоже время без прорисовки деталей это немного не то что я люблю. Посмотрим что получится

Gold Rush in Sacramento

 

On the Labor Day weekend we visited Sacramento Gold Rush festival which is held every year. It was so fan!

В Сакраменто в первые выходные сентября проводится ежегодный фестиваль “Золотая лихорадка”. Восттанавливают исторические сцены, костюмы итп времен злотой лихорадки. Детям предлагается много аттракционов. Один из них – намывание золота. Злото конечно не настоящее, но откуда детям знать =) Вобщем присоединяйтесь
