As I mentioned yesterday I’m stitching snow in contrary with our extremely hot weather. Here is an update: center part is done and the top row of snowflakes =)
Как я писала вчера, я решила взяться за снеговичков. Жара стоит ужасная, так что взгляд на снеговичков слегка охлаждает =) Вобщем, вышила я центральную часть (ту где елки) и верхний ряд снежинок.
It’s really hot today, 103F and the forecast for weekends is 105F. Time to stitch my snowmen =) I was working on the central part – those Christmas trees.
Сегодня было весьма жарко 39С (а на выходные обещают до 41С). Самое время повышивать моих снеговичков. Сегодня вышивала цетральную часть, эти симпатичные елки =)
It’s also time for some milkshake =)
Ну и самое время, конечно сделать себе молочный коктейль
Решила вышить вот такую патриотично-американскую картинку Americana Basket из нового июльского номера JCS. Ткань сама покрасила в желтый цвет. Ожидала другой оттенок, ну такой солнечный цвет думаю тоже подойдет
When I received July issue of Just Cross Stitch Magazine I chose this patriotic design. I dyed fabric myself. I thought that the color would be warmer and darker not so lemon kind. Anyway think this sunny color will fit and make the work look festively =) We’ll see

Snowman for June ornament 
I substitute silver metallic for the gold one (I simply have only this kind)
Вот такой снеговичок для июньского орнамента. Я заменила серебряный металик на золотой просто потому что только такой у меня есть, а покупать для нескольких крестиков неохота
I don’t remember rain on summer day here but June 24 and 25th this year. Kind of unusual (as many strange things around the world) . I think it’s remainder that we live in the end time. Our pastor said in this Sunday service that we’re nor waiting of the apocalypses as end of life but the Kingdom of God and time when everybody kneel upon the Lord Jesus.
У нас не было дождей летом, никто не помнит такого. 24 и 25 июня затянуло небо и идет дождь. Весьма непривычно. Я думаю, что это напоминание для нас что мы живем в последнее время. Мне запомнились слова пастора из воскресной проповеди что мы не ждем конца света а ожидаем царства Божия на земле и времени когда каждый поклонится Иисусу Христу.
В такую погоду я решила заняться консервацией и испекла немного кексиков.
To make my day I’ve decided to bake some muffins. I also did some canning (tomatoes are ripe despite the rain ))
This Saturday we went to Lake Tahoe. The trip was mostly for our pleasure but also to visit my step-daughter (and her family) camping there.
Some info (for those who is unfamiliar with that lake) Lake Tahoe is the large freshwater lake in Sierra Nevada. It’s the second deepest lake in the USA. Its shoreline of 72 mi is on two-third in California and the rest is in Nevada.
We went from CA to the Nevada’s part of the lake. To get there we had to drive up to 6,225 ft. (from about 30 ft. in Sacramento). You might imagine those mountains roads! And the views! We stopped several times during our drive to make some photos.
It was hot, sunny and a little windy at the lake. The beautiful place! We haven’t swim (the water was really freeze) just laid on the beach, watching few courageous people in the water )) Later on we made camp fire and made some meat and baked potatoes.
В субботу мы ездили на озеро Тахо. Оля, дочка моего мужа, с ее семьей жили там в палатке в кемпинге несколько дней. Мы решили их проведать и заодно полюбоваться красотами Тахо.
When I sought this ornament in the CrossStitcher February issue I decided to stitch it and completely forgot about it till yesterday. It took me less than hour to made such a tiny thing )) My coffee mugs’ form is not simple so it was difficult to adjust the cover (I believe it still need a lot of work). I was so eager to show the ornament so I just closed my eyes on its imperfection ))
Этот небольшой орнамент я увидела в февральском номере CrossStitcher и решила его вышить. благополучно забыла до вчерашнего дня. Около часа заняла вся работа. Кружка не цилиндрической формы, поэтому трудно было обтянуть, требует конечно доработки-переделки. Сильно хотела похвастаться ))

I’d like to share with you my last purchases. I’ve got two books. One is about crewel embroidery and the second is book of historical samplers. And one more )) It’s not a purchase actually but a gift from Russian relatives – The Art of Jacobean embroidery. I’m so impressed with them and already began thinking about starting Jacobean embroidery (even found fabric).
Хочу поделиться своими недавними прибретениями. Сначала книги. Первая о вышивке с замечательными примерами выполнения швов, небольшими проектами. Вторая сборник исторических сэмплеров с описанием кто когда вышивал. Ощущение музейное. Есть еще третья – подаров от моих русских родственников – Искусство Якобинской вышивки. Недавно увидела в одном из блогов и заказала, вот уже с оказией и передали. Загорелась вышить что-нибудь подобное, уже и материальчик подобрала.
I also bought Frederick the Literate by Dimensions, Joy of Matrimony, one Mill Hill kit. Everything in good condition and pretty chip. I feel like I’m queen of treasures ))
Еще прикупила Фредерика, красивый набор от JCS, симпатичный мил-хильчик. Недорого все купила в секонд-хенд кто-то сдал, в отличном состоянии. )) Вот такая я королева сокровищ.
I didn’t expect this orchids to bloom anymore. I recently through away another one because I was waiting for them to bloom almost for two years and nothing happened ( Looks like I made this flower afraid to be thrown like its mate. Now I’m very exciting to see my orchids blooming!
Неожиданно зацвела орхидея. Больше года просто стояла (вернее стояли потому что их было две), жалела я их жалела, да выбросила одну пару дней назад, а тут смотрю эта соседка бутоны выбросила. Как испугалась )) Теперь бегаю и всем рассказываю.

I enjoyed stitching this bookmark. Colors are so gentle and calming and beads make bright spots. I noticed that threading the beading needle became kind of complicated for me. The needle's eye is so small! Might be I’m getting old )) No way! Happily I seldom use beads in my stitching.
Закладка от МН вышивалась очень легко. Мне очень нравится подбор цвета, такой мягкий и спокойный. Обнаружила что мне не очень то легко вставлять нитку в иглу для бисера. Старость что-ли подкрадывается )) Ну конечно ушко просто крохотное, хорошо что крайне редко приходится шить бисером
